Reduced Tillage

No-till is a practice where there is no tillage used on the field throughout the growing season. Strip-till is very similar but there is only one piece of tillage equipment used and it only tills a small width of where the seed will be planted.

Strip-till improves the seed germination, soil evaporation in spring, and soil temperatures. No-till and strip-till can be challenging, but they come with huge benefits to the soil including: reduced runoff, improved soil structure, reduced compaction, and increased soil infiltration/permeability.
