EQIP Funds Available

Counties in the Midwest Ag Water Quality Initiative watersheds will have an additional 1.5 million in EQIP funding available for a June 21st signup deadline. Eligible counties in the Middle Cedar watershed include:

  • Benton

  • Black Hawk

  • Tama

  • Grundy

  • Linn

  • Buchanan

  • Butler

  • Franklin

  • Hardin

  • Marshall

Eligible practices are focused on nutrient reduction and improving soil health. Practices include: Cover Crops, Constructed Wetland, Denitrifying Bioreactor, Saturated Buffer, No-Till/Strip-Till, and others.

Iowa has also been selected to take part in an NRCS pilot project that will provide funding for the treatment of ephemeral gullies on highly erodible land. Priority funding will go to applicants who have received a compliance review variance to address ephemeral gully erosion. To learn more about this funding opportunity, follow the link below:
